Quick Response Carbine with the Binary Firing System III from Franklin Armory

Old-fashioned Patrol rifle quality rebranded as the QRC BFSIII, which is a AR15 / M4 Carbine rifle with an M4 flat-top receiver, carbine handguards and a 16″ barrel with a shaved-down front sight base as a low profile gas block.  The QRC BFSIII features the binary trigger from Franklin Armory, which provides three position semi-automatic shooting.  The trigger itself makes this production rifle an upgrade over standard patrol rifles, which Bushmaster has been famous for with law enforcement and civilian shooters for decades.

Bushmaster was one of the early AR-15 pioneers, and made its mark over time by delivering a solid rifle at a budget price point.  Bushy’s have always been built solid, but have mostly avoided some of the frills that other brands have had, and probably you would not buy a Bushmaster to be a match rifle.  But, you can count on Bushmaster to be solid.  Over the course of time, others moved their price down and down, and Bushmaster maintained a middle ground price, but increased their quality with the XM-15 Quick Response Carbine (QRC).  With this version of the QRC, Bushmaster has added the Binary Firing System from Franklin Armory.

The Binary Firing System, BFSIII from Franklin Armory sells for around $400, so keep that in-mind when you evaluate the price, performance and value of this M4 style carbine.  The BFSIII is a 4.5 lb trigger and features enhanced buffer springs and a three-position semi-automatic trigger.

Position 2:  SEMI

Position 3:  BINARY

Now, we all know Position ONE and Position TWO, but what is BINARY?  Pretty simple.  The trigger will fire one round when you pull, and one round on release.  If you do not release, the second round is paused until you release.  You can see that you can achieve a rather quick rate of fire with the trigger pulling double duty, so to speak.
