LMT Defender 5.56 NATO – 14.5″ SBR or 16″ pin and weld

This LMT is an upgrade from the standard M4s offered by other companies. LMT uses cryogenically treated CMV barrels, a Nitride bolt carrier group, and top quality components. The upper is the “Billboard” style with a chrome-lined 1:7 twist M4 profile barrel, Magpul SL handguard, LMT Heavy Duty Tactical charging handle, A2 front sight, and a Surefire 3 Prong Warcomp which can be used to mount Surefire SOCOM series silencers. The Defender 2000 lower features a Magpul SL buttstock on a six-position receiver extension with QD end plate and the LMT Estonia pistol grip. Everything you need, nothing you don’t, this patrol rifle is simple and rugged.

This is a very attractive, limited edition with the Magpul FDE furniture.

NOTE: This 14.5″ barrel model is available as a factory Short Barreled Rifle, or may be pinned and welded by Charlie’s and delisted to a non-NFA rifle.  You choose.

The SBR option is an NFA restricted item and will need to be shipped to an NFA capable dealer and the purchaser will need to pay a tax stamp and complete a Form 4 before they can take possession of the firearm. Be aware of this before purchasing.  The pin and weld option will require an extra two weeks for shop time to pin and weld.

The process of delisting is very easy, should you choose to have this rifle pin and welded to have a barrel of at least 16″.  An NFA item only exists to the extent it fits the definition of an SBR, in this case.  As soon as the muzzle device is pinned and welded to the barrel, the rifle can now transfer as a normal rifle.  In the background, Charlie’s will notify the ATF to remove the rifle from the NFA registry.  Technically, this is a courtesy.  The customer needs no documentation that the rifle is no longer an SBR, as the rifle fails to meet that definition.  The process of the ATF removing the rifle from the NFA registry takes some time, but that is only housekeeping on the part of the ATF.

If this rifle ships to a magazine restricted state or locality, the magazine will be removed.

Buying and shipping through Charlie’s is easy, but there is some information you need to know. This item must ship to FFL holder. No civilian exceptions.

       1)  Check your state laws to make sure the federally regulated item you want to purchase is legal in your state.

       2)  Find your FFL… Have your dealer send us a copy of their FFL to Charlie’s (Make them earn their fee!!!)
